Season of Giving Back
The month of December
Throughout the month of December, the Season of Giving Back will celebrate and recognize the charitable efforts of the produce industry and their partners this past year in support of our mission to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables for children and their families.
Three ways to participate in our Season of Giving Back
We’re celebrating produce industry companies, non-profit partners and schools that have gone above and beyond to make fresh fruit and vegetables available for children and families in need. With your support, we’ll highlight these partnerships to the industry and beyond, throughout the month of December.
The Gift of Time
We’re creating opportunities for industry members to volunteer their time and expertise to schools and non-profit organizations looking for advice and technical support in serving fresh produce to their communities.
Raise a Glass
We’re providing opportunities to support our mission with a year-end gift, while also providing added visibility in the industry for your charitable initiatives. Additionally, we’re hosting a Season of Giving Back raffle, as well as several interactive, virtual networking events that will bring our community together for holiday cheer!
Participants who support our mission of getting fresh and healthy produce to children in need with a $100 donation, or who are employed by a corporate sponsor of the Season of Giving Back, are eligible to attend any of our three virtual events. For each $100 donation made, participants will also receive a Season of Giving Back raffle ticket.
- December 3 at 8pm ET/5pm PT:
A Night of Comedy for the Produce Industry
They say laughter is the best medicine. Come together virtually to celebrate a year of goodwill with industry peers who put their best foot forward in a time of need. This star-studded lineup of laughs will have you rolling – from the comfort of your own home. Comedians Tyrone Stallone, Ophira Eisenberg, Luke Thayer, Fabrizio Copano and Jocelyn Chia will raise our spirits as we raise our glass to the industry.
- December 9 at 8pm ET/5pm PT:
Jingle and Mingle with Chef Todd Fisher
The flavors of Carmel’s famous 7th & Dolores Steakhouse will fill your home this holiday season with a meal inspired by Chef Todd Fisher! During this happy hour, we will gather with friends, sip wine and see what Chef Todd has in store for our holiday feasts. Thirsty for more? There will be a drawing for a large-format bottle of wine from Folktale Winery & Vineyards, signed by the winemaker and Chef Todd. The winner will be drawn at random from all live participants at the end of the cooking demonstration.
- December 17 at 8pm ET/5pm PT:
Meet the Winemaker presented by Alloro Vineyard
The last of our three Season of Giving Back events begins with a sneak peek of Alloro Vineyard hosted by their Winemaker and General Manager Tom Fitzpatrick. Raise a glass as we toast to the overwhelming generosity of our industry as we each gave in our own ways to support our communities, companies and each other throughout the pandemic of 2020. This evening will conclude with the Season of Giving Back Raffle Drawing just in time for the holidays.
